DR.EV Tesla Repair Toronto;Tesla Model X Stiff Steering Fix | Universal Joint Replacement in Toronto

👁️‍🗨️ Overview

A Tesla Model X was brought into our Toronto service center with complaints of intermittent steering stiffness, especially noticeable during cold starts and tight turns. After a full steering column inspection, we traced the issue to a partially seized lower steering universal joint — a known wear point in high-mileage or cold-climate vehicles.

🔍 Diagnostic Summary

Our inspection process included:

  1. Road test confirmed delayed steering return and inconsistent resistance

  2. Steering rack ruled out (no hydraulic or electrical fault)

  3. Lower U-joint exposed to corrosion, restricting joint movement

  4. No power steering system errors on the dashboard
