Tesla Model X Upper Control Arm Replacement | Suspension Noise Fix

The customer reported the sound during low-speed turns and while driving over uneven surfaces. Our inspection revealed a worn front upper control arm, a common issue on high-mileage Model X vehicles, especially in colder climates.

🔍 Diagnostic Summary

Using standard Tesla suspension diagnostic procedures, we confirmed:

1. Dry, cracked ball joint bushings in the upper control arm

2. Excessive lateral play at the front knuckle interface

3. No DTCs in the vehicle’s suspension module

4. Confirmed creaking sound during static articulation test

🛠️ Replacement Procedure

To restore proper suspension performance and eliminate the noise, our technicians:

1. Safely lifted the vehicle and powered it down

2. Removed front wheels and fender liners

3. Detached upper control arm from the knuckle and frame mount

4. Installed new OEM Tesla upper control arms with improved bushings

5. Applied factory torque specifications

6. Reassembled all components and verified alignment
