DR.EV Tesla Repair Toronto, Telsa Brake service, Tesla 3rd Party Brake

Updated: Jun 12

👁️‍🗨️Overview

This service focused on replacing the front brake pads of a Tesla Model X. The owner visit our Tesla Toronto Repair Centre and reported reduced braking efficiency and a high-pitched noise during slow stops — both classic indicators of worn brake pads.

🔍Initial Assessment

Following Tesla's diagnostic steps:

  1. Removed both front wheels and visually inspected the calipers;

  2. Pad thickness was below the Tesla-recommended minimum of 3 mm;

  3. Uneven wear was present on inner pads, suggesting heat cycling and lack of lubrication;

  4. Brake rotors were within specification and did not require resurfacing or replacement.

🛠️Replacement Procedure

  1. Safely lifted the vehicle and powered it off;

  2. Removed front wheels;

  3. Detached caliper pins and springs;

  4. Extracted the old pads;

  5. Cleaned the caliper bracket and pistons;

  6. Installed new pads and new spring clips;

  7. Reassembled with correct torque;

  8. Performed brake pedal bedding
